Pogba has not featured for United since September as he continues to nurse an ankle injury which has completely disrupted his season at Old Trafford.

It is understood the Frenchman could make a return to action later this month, but chances to see him in a red shirt appear to be numbered.

Metro UK citing Manchester Evening News reports Pogba’s teammates do not expect the World Cup-winning star to be at the club beyond the ongoing season.

Whereas the former Juventus midfielder remains a popular figure with the rest of the squad, it is said he is not focused on his Red Devils career and remains keen to seal a move elsewhere.

The 26-year-old gas previously openly indicated his desire to take up a new challenge elsewhere, with Real Madrid and Juventus among his potential suitors.

Despite a return to Turin being on the cards, Madrid remain his likeliest destination, with current manager Zinedine Zidane a huge admirer.

His current deal with the Red Devils will end in 2021, but the club has the option to extend it by a further year.

Manchester United are currently occupying seventh position on the Premier League standings with 35 points after 25 games played so far this term.
