Solskjaer is currently bookies’ favourite to be axed in the Premier League after Mauricio Pochettino and Unai Emery facing similar fate recently.

The Norwegian has guided United to their worst start to a league campaign in three decades, with last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Aston Villa heaping more pressure on the tactician.

The former Molde manager now seems well aware he is living on borrowed time at the Theatre of Dreams, warning his players of an imminent sack if they do not step up.

According to a Metro UK report citing SunSport, Solskjaer told his wards he could be handed marching orders should they fail to register favourable results.

“Ole was a little bit emotional and told them that if they don’t get two results this week, he could be gone,” a source at United reportedly told SunSport.

“Ole told the players all his and their focus now has to go straight to the Spurs game,” the source added.

The Red Devils are scheduled to face a resurgent Tottenham side on Wednesday, December 4, at Old Trafford, before travelling to Etihad on Saturday, December 7.

The two fixtures could prove decisive on Solskjaer’s future at Old Trafford, having come under immense pressure from fans to quit.
