Muhammad Babandede has revealed that scammers are using fake website for fake employment

Muhammad Babandede, the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), has alerted the general public that fraudsters were using a fake NIS website to defraud Nigerians who were seeking employment.

Daily Trust reports that a statement issued on Tuesday, January 14, by Sunday James, the NIS spokesman, indicated that Babandede said the scammers opened a website where they are presently carrying out fake recruitment activities.

Fivestardiary gathered that NIS boss, however, advised Nigerians against subscribing to the fake website, adding that no recruitment is ongoing in the service.

The statement read in part: “The attention of the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babandede has been drawn to a fake recruitment advert and exercise taking place on a fake website https/nis/recruitmentname.ng where unsuspected Nigerians are being duped.

“The service is hereby disassociating itself from the exercise and advising Nigerians against subscribing to it as no recruitment is ongoing in the service.”

It said vacancies were always free and made known to Nigerians via the national dailies, television, radio and its authentic website (www.immigration.gov.ng).
