Emmalyn Nguyen, 18, wanted her breasts enlarged after graduating from high school to improve her self-confidence.

But the Colorado teen is now in a coma, unaware of her surroundings, and kept alive with feeding tubes and an oxygen machine.

“Her body is still there but her mind is not,” her mother told the news. “We feel like we lost a daughter.”

Emmalyn Nguyen had saved up $6,000 for the procedure, hoping the breast implants would improve her quality of life.

The 18-year-old was given general anesthetic while her breasts were enlarged. But during the surgery, she suffered two cardiac arrests and severe brain damage.

The pretty teen is now in a “minimally conscious state” where she is unable to speak, walk, eat, or take care of herself. She will require around-the-clock care for the rest of her life.

Every day now, Emmalyn’s mother visits her daughter’s bedside to brush the teen’s hair and adjust her pillow.

Some local residents said that while they feel sorry for the young girl, the expensive procedure was unnecessary.

“She was a beautiful Asian,” Karen Moore told the news. “There was no need for cosmetic surgeries.”

The family of Emmalyn Nguyen are suing the medical staff, claiming they performed the breast enhancement improperly.

While her mother knows a lawsuit won’t bring her daughter back, she hopes it will allow the family to afford the high costs of keeping the teen on permanent life support.
