Boateng has 301 appearances for Bayern, scoring eight goals and notching 22 assists since joining them from Manchester City in 2011.

The German even won Bundesliga titles and a Champions League with Bayern Munich but his consistency has however been questioned by the Bavaria fans recently.

With the 31-year-old looking destined for imminent exit from Allianz Arena, Bayern have reportedly told him they would not allow him to go in January.

Boateng has made just 15 appearances this season as his place is being threatened by David Alaba who Bayern manager Hansi Flick preferred at the centre-back position.

Bayern are third on Bundesliga log, two points behind Borussia Monchengladbach and four points behind leaders RB Leipzig.
